MCE provided MPE engineering design for the District-owned “La Casa”, a supportive housing project in Washington, DC. The seven- story plus a basement facility provides 42 single-person efficiency living units, administrative offices, a community room, and a public laundry facility for the residence. MCE utilized Autodesk Revit MEP, Building Information Modeling (BIM) software in collaboration with the architectural and structural team to detect conflicts and improve coordination of the MEP system with building elements. LEED principles and sound engineering design were applied to this project to assist for pursuing a LEED gold certification.
