The Lansburgh is a large multi-family residential apartment building located at 425 8th Street, NW. MCE has provided MEP and fire protection engineering services for the phased construction, coordinating the limit of work for continued uninterrupted operation of the facility. As part of the phased renovation, the common building systems such as central water source heat pump system, corridor ventilation system and central exhaust system for the apartments bathroom, kitchen and dryer exhaust risers are studied and updated as required. Central bathrooms, kitchens and dryer exhaust manifolds serving the apartments are reconfigured with additional exhaust fans to improve the exhaust systems. A central domestic hot water system has been designed to provide domestic hot water to the 385 apartment units. A heat recovery loop is added to capture the existing heat pump system heat of rejection to preheat the cold water prior to reaching the domestic hot water boilers.
